This chart shows the ancestorial origins of the population of the United States in 2017.​

​

You will note that less that 0.7% of the countries population is represented by culturally ancestorial peoples ("Native Americans and Eskimos").

It is worth noting that prior to European contact with what is currently the United States that there were between ten and twenty million Native Americans.  But by 1900, there were less that 300,000 while the country's population was around 17 million people ...
