Under Construction

"The true definition of a snob is one who craves for what separates [people] rather than for what unites them." John Buchan
About This and Us
"They Don't Understand!" ....
This is what my wife said when I told a neighbor that my interactions with them made me uncomfortable, and I would no longer be social with them.
They said I was calling them racist, got defensive, ... then became hateful beyond reason. I was being "self-righteous" (their washed-out term for "uppity").
Their anger (raw hate and vitriol, fabrications, second and third hand, total lack of context) and reaction proved me correct ...
But it made me think ... what is a constructive way to communicate without having an unenlightened person taking it as such a radical offense?
Life Experience and Research ...
This "Living" web resource is a compilation that is very intentional in its purpose ... to help bring people together.
As of today (Juneteenth 2024), it is in "Preview" ... not full launch, with its awareness limited. Any and all comments welcomed (tedd@ResEPA.com).
I'm Tedd Davis, a former businessman and IT/business executive. When I retired from 15 years at Microsoft as a business and strategy consultant focused on organizational transformation (A Director of Digital Solutions Architecture), I wanted to live a more meaningful life as a social entrepreneur.
I stopped traveling 48 weeks a year and got heavily involved in the community ... really almost two involved!
I keep putting my business plans on the back burner ... there are so many needs.
But, more about that later.
My observation was that Diversity and DEI had become so overloaded and politicized that the subject had become almost uncontrollably confrontational ... especially true in today's dangerous political environment, thanks to a certain political candidate playing with lies and fear.
The evolution of my thinking was supported by research and discussion.
As a management consultant (and business owner, and IT executive, etc.) who worked with stakeholders at all levels in transformation of business and organizations, I am familiar with researching people and enterprises and understanding their cultures, needs, and solutions.
Integration Front Lines
My Father and Mother moved us to a very conservative white community in 1965, and our family was never welcomed to communities with open arms. We became multi-cultural without mentorship during very social and political turbulent times.
My youngest brother Fred has a master's degree in Cultural Studies and has worked in conflict resolution, counseling (high school and college), and has most recently been a Diversity, Recruiting, and Human Resources Leader.
Together, we've developed and co-edited this sites content.
My middle brother Tony (I'm the oldest) is a successful high school coach, educator, athletic director, assistant principle (all at the same time!). He is currently a school district's diversity director as becomes and evolving, multi-cultural suburban community.
Our vision has been to defuse the language and bring people together.
Whenever my dad heard me complain about our environment and the people around it, he simply said:
"What are you going to do about it?"
Our work here represents such a step.
There is much, much more content to come ...
We will blog, provide cross cultural tools and insights, links to data and research, and provide forums and tools that our readers will find thought provoking and useful.
We welcome you to our adventure.
A society that cannot work and play together won't survive.
